Ellettsville residents, and the greater Ellettsville Community, are encouraged to participate in the community-planning process by engaging in the upcoming Envision Ellettsville Public Workshop on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

The Envision Ellettsville Planning Team will host a an open-house workshop to solicit input from the public on the Town’s Vision Plan development effort. The goal of the Vision Plan is to create a clear identity and long-term vision for the community. When complete, the Plan will provide recommendations that drive action through the Town of Ellettsville Planning Department as well as key community organizations.
The people who call Ellettsville home are passionate about their community and are proud of the positive changes that have happened over the past few years. At the same time, it is recognized that a shared vision of the future is needed for Ellettsville to take its next steps forward. In 2019, at a packed Town Hall meeting, residents and business owners gathered to discuss the future. Conversation in that meeting focused on areas that need to be addressed in order to create high quality of life in our community including safe neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown, parks and outdoor amenities, a welcoming business environment, and growth that is thoughtfully planned. In response to this community interest, the Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce and Ellettsville Main Street Inc. formed a volunteer committee to identify the best path forward to build a shared vision for our community that is strategic, actionable and sustainable.
The Public Workshop will allow residents to review project data and, through a series of interactive exercises, provide ideas and input on local existing conditions and future opportunities for the greater Ellettsville area. Since a successful Vision Plan process hinges on public involvement, the Town wants to involve as many citizens as possible. The Envision Ellettsville Planning Team – comprised of the Greater Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce, Ellettsville Main Street Inc. and Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group - is hosting a public workshop on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ellettsville Town Hall, 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive, Ellettsville, IN 47429. There will be an introductory presentation beginning at 6:00pm and afterwards attendees will be encouraged to visit specific meeting stations to weigh in on community topics such as housing, businesses, roadways, trails and recreation to name a few. Attendees are encouraged to stay as long as they like during the workshop. Envision Ellettsville Team members will be present to collect input, discuss ideas and answer questions. Additionally, residents can provide input via an online survey, if they are unable to attend the meeting.
