Ellettsville, IN – On Friday, May 12, 2023 members of the Envision Ellettsville board and Town staff attended the Hoosier Planning Awards Luncheon in Terre Haute to receive an award for the Envision Ellettsville Vision Plan.
The Vision Plan was recognized by the American Planning Associate Indiana Chapter as an Outstanding Comprehensive Plan. This award honors planning efforts that represent significant advancement of long-range planning in the state of Indiana. The Envision Ellettsville Vision Plan was chosen based on its originality and innovative approach to address needs, state-of-the-art presentation and methodology, strong effort to solicit community input, and effectiveness in identifying steps for implementation.
In early 2021, the Ellettsville Main Street, Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Ellettsville came together to launch the Envision Ellettsville initiative to create a long-term, community-driven vision for the future. The Envision Ellettsville committee selected Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group (TSWDG) to facilitate the planning process and craft the Vision Plan. The Vision Plan wrapped up in May 2022 with a community-wide celebration.

Nearly a year later from the plan’s completion, the project team hosted a Community Update public event on Tuesday, May 16 to showcase all of the exciting progress that has been made following the planning process. During this public event, Hailey Roark, Project Manager from TSWDG, presented the Hoosier Planning Award to the Town of Ellettsville, Ellettsville Main Street, and the Greater Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce.
